What did we cover during the webinar?
During the webinar, we explored several ways the ConstruSteel Online Preparation Suite supports a more efficient steel fabrication process.
Automated bar nesting and material optimization
Efficient material usage is essential for controlling costs in steel fabrication. The Online Preparation Suite automates bar nesting to optimize material utilization, reduce waste and save valuable preparation time. Straight and angled cuts can be combined to make better use of available material.
From BIM data to production-ready information
Preparing accurate production data is a crucial step between engineering and manufacturing. The suite generates DSTV+ and PNI files for compatible CNC machinery, as well as digital cutting lists for manual saws. This helps reduce repetitive preparation work and supports a smoother transition from the BIM model to the workshop.
Digitized purchasing and material management
The Online Preparation Suite also supports purchasing and material management by helping users create bills of materials and purchase orders, track deliveries and manage stock. This provides greater insight into material requirements and helps coordinate activities between the office and the workshop.
Advanced Scribing for Tekla
We also demonstrated how Advanced Scribing for Tekla generates optimized layout and contour markings directly from the Tekla model. Depending on the application and machine capabilities, this includes scribing lines, pop marks, hole reference lines and position numbers.
By reducing the need for manual marking, steel fabricators can speed up fitting and assembly while helping to reduce errors and failure costs.
Mobile production tracking
With mobile status updates, production progress can be monitored in real time. This gives teams better insight into the status of their work and helps connect planning and preparation with activities on the shop floor.
